Set against the unique backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, this, the 58th Edinburgh Military Tattoo, celebrates the Diamond Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and amongst a selection of top international acts, features a musical tribute to the special role of military music throughout history.
The unique international cast features a range of performers from Taiwan, Trinidad and Tobago, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, The United States of America, Canada, Russia and South Africa, as well as a very strong representation from the United Kingdom. The variety of high class acts and performances fills the castle esplanade with a truly memorable visual celebration of music and dance.
The highlights include the unforgettable sight of the Massed Pipes and Drums as they take their usual place on the castle esplanade, the exciting Taipei Marching Band and Drill Team from Taiwan with their meticulous display of music and precision drill, the equestrian splendour of the Household Cavalry's Mounted Band of the Blues and Royals, a high speed act of thrills and few spills from Imps Motorcycle Display Team, a traditional costumed performance from the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes and Drums from Massachusetts.
