Dannsa had been working on a new dance piece with Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis. Part of the process was for Sandra and Caroline to learn the songs that they were dancing to and Julie to learn some steps. This concept was extended to the workshops. After a great morning dancing, everyone took part in a singing workshop. Learning some great Puirt A Beul. In the afternoon as well as Fin playing for one of the classes Julie sang for the other one, with each class showing what they had managed to learn during the afternoon. Dannsa and Julie then showed the new piece, although not finished it was very special to see the begins of a new dance, that they hope you will see sometime in the future."Is wel toevallig, hoewel het wereldje natuurlijk niet zo heel groot is. Ik weet alleen niet wat ik haar zou moeten vragen.. Ik heb in feite al veel dingen gedurende de week. Ik ben begonnen met Highland dance en Step dance, volg op dinsdag nog Ierse danslessen en op woensdag zing ik in een Gaelic koor!
Daarnaast mijn studie en tussendoor af en toe een harples...
Maar waarom ik Julie zo bewonder is omdat ze in feite precies datgene doet waar ik al zo lang van droom. Oude liederen opnieuw zingen en in een nieuw jasje steken. Ik zou heel graag meer met de Gaelic muziek willen doen in de toekomst, wellicht zelfs op Skye, want dat is de place to be daarvoor. Als dat ooit mogelijk is... Daarom leer ik nu ook Gaelic, zodat ik sowieso een basis heb in de taal.
Ach ja, ieder mens moet zijn dromen hebben, denk ik dan maar...
